Sierra Madre Bioswale

Sierra Madre is a community-led project. NOEGIC, in partnership with Water Wise, Water Wise Youth, The Pressburg Homeowners Association, and Tulane University School of Architecture students, installed a bioswale on Chef Menteur Hwy at Sierra Madre that can capture 6,000 gallons of stormwater runoff from the highway each rain event. This highway serves as an evacuation route for New Orleans, Saint Bernard Parish, and Plaquemines Parish.
